In June 2020, Vision Buxton appointed a new member to the Board of Directors, Hayley Lloyd House, who is the Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability for Nestlé Waters UK.
Nestlé Waters UK has played a vital role in Buxton’s economy for many years in the bottling and distribution of Buxton Mineral Water, being a major employer in the area. The company is a supporter and sponsor of the Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust and so will continue to play an important part in the town’s marketing efforts, especially in anticipation of the imminent reopening of the Crescent.
“It is with great pleasure that Vision Buxton has welcomed Hayley Lloyd House to the Board. As one of our directors, Hayley will clearly influence Vision Buxton’s efforts into the future to make our town an even better place in which to live work and play, and to visit.” Adrian Brown, Vice-Chair.
On joining the Board, Hayley says: “I’m incredibly proud to join the team behind Vision Buxton on behalf of Nestlé Waters. It’s a real delight for me as I have close relationships with others in the community and I want to help contribute as much as I can. This is especially important right now as there are so many challenges facing everyone in the community following the impact of COVID-19, now is the time to pull together more than ever.
“We have been working hard on raising our profile and making a positive contribution to the town over the last few years. An important part of this has been listening to people’s views from the local community and acting on this where we have been able to. For me, being invited to join the board is a real recognition of the changes we’ve made to actively participate in the community. The community is so important to us, we are proud to call Buxton home. As such, Nestlé UK and Ireland announced a £1 million investment to support 8,000 families in need this summer, including 207 families on behalf of the company’s 207 Buxton-based employees.”
Hayley looks forward to bringing her expertise from communications and corporate business to help in any way she can to bring focus on Buxton: “I want Nestlé Waters to give and help develop their business strategy and execute activities. It’s about continuing our journey in the local area and really opening our doors.
“I am so proud that during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, our Buxton teams were able to deliver almost 20,000 bottles to local NHS hospitals, care homes, ambulance and police teams, this is as well as £4million of products donated by Nestlé to food banks and key workers across the UK.
“I am very proud to work for Nestlé Waters. We want to be a good neighbour and work together with those around us and be a force for good.”
Hayley has worked for Nestlé for fourteen years, beginning her career as a Nutrition Manager, advising on nutrition policy, reformulation and employee wellness. She spent three years in Switzerland at the global headquarters of Nestlé’s joint venture with General Mills, Cereal Partners focusing on nutrition and regulatory affairs. After returning to the UK to work in Public Affairs, getting married and starting a family, she joined Nestlé Waters UK in 2017 in her current role as Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability.
Hayley grew up in Manchester and went to Leeds Metropolitan University, qualifying with a BSc Honours in Public Health Nutrition. She lives her with husband, two children and German Short-haired Pointer, Tom. She is passionate about gardening and growing her own food and enjoys the outdoors and taking in rural landscapes with a love for walking, running and yoga.
Hayley is the fourth new appointment to the Vision Buxton Board this year, following those of Marie Cooper, Isla Dawes and Mat Blackwood earlier in the year. Read more about their appointment here. Information about the full Board of Directors is available here.
