We hold regular members’ meetings, networking meetings and social events, including tours and visits.

Next Members’ Meeting

Date: Thursday 13 May
Venue: online via Zoom
Time: 5.30pm-7pm

will be a live webinar presentation addressing “Buxton’s ‘brand’ and vision of itself” and serves as the launch event for the revised visitor proposition for Buxton, moving on from ‘England’s Leading Spa Town’ and an associated toolkit.

The review of the existing branding and development of the new proposition and toolkit is part of the Visitor Economy Strategy project for Buxton which has been funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund with co-finance from High Peak Borough Council (HPBC).

The webinar is kindly being hosted by Marketing Peak District & Derbyshire (MPDD), delivered with support from their European Regional Development Fund project.

The presentation will be delivered by branding consultant, Howard Swift, and will feature an overview of the research and consultation which informed the work and practical tips and ideas as to how you can incorporate the messaging into your business’ own identity.

Howard says “We’ll look at how we’ve got to a clearer shared understanding of the place, an expression of what Buxton can offer visitors, how it sits with other destinations and its core strengths and unique qualities. And we’ll look at how we can best share all this to attract more and longer-staying visitors, and keep them coming back.”

Following this, there will be an opportunity to ask questions to Howard and representatives from MPDD and HPBC.

The presentation is particularly for Vision Buxton members, but anyone with an interest in how we present our town to the wider world is welcome to join us.

What happens at a members’ meeting?

Members’ meetings are informal opportunities to find out what is happening at Vision Buxton and to hear reports from our members and associates including High Peak Borough Council, the local police force and the Town Team.

Guests from local businesses or the community are often invited to give a brief presentation about a project which they are involved in and which may be of interest to Vision Buxton members. Attendees always have opportunity to ask questions or raise issues.

After approximately an hour, attendees can stay and promote their business in the networking meeting and carry on conversations. Tea and coffee is provided free of charge.

If you are interested in joining Vision Buxton and would like to attend one meeting before committing yourself, you are welcome to do so.
