ShopAppy is coming to Derbyshire!
ShopAppy.com, a “one-stop, local, online shop” is a fast-growing, ‘support local’ movement across the UK which aims to bring people back to their local high streets, markets and town centre but online. The ShopAppy.com website and trading platform, which is backed by Visa, enables customers to see what local shops and services offer and all in one place.
With support from Derbyshire County Council (DCC), it is coming to Derbyshire launching to the public in November 2020. It is part of DCC’s efforts to support independent Derbyshire businesses and keep them trading through tough times.
“Our high streets and the precious local businesses that are vital parts of our local communities and economy are under threat. With physical visits declining and spend quickly moving online, accelerated by COVID-19, we need to do things differently. £3 in every £5 is now being spent with larger online retailers like Amazon which does not benefit our local business who we need to support. ShopAppy.com disrupts this behaviour by providing shoppers with a one-stop-local-online-shop for all the products and services available from our lovely independent shops and businesses.”
Through the support of DCC, local businesses can sign up for 12 months free – just in time for Christmas shopping.
“To support our local businesses and economy, Derbyshire County Council are offering a 12 months free subscription to the Shopappy.com platform, making it easier than ever for people to browse, book and buy from local businesses at their convenience.”
Businesses who sign up will receive:
- an online profile with images detailing any information, opening times or contact details as required
- ability to list unlimited products or services for sale, to order or to book
- e-commerce capabilities with click and collect or delivery options
- full training and support from ShopAppy.com
- local marketing campaigns
“Whether you have never traded online before, or you already have your own website, a Facebook shop, or you sell via other online platforms, there is value in adding Shopappy.com to your customer access points and creating another ‘shop window’.”
“With more uncertainty ahead, we need to work together to protect our Christmas trade and economic recovery. The ShopAppy.com site aims to entice footfall back to our high streets but includes single click & collect, and delivery options for those who are still shielding, and it will enable you to continue to service customers in the event of further lockdown restrictions.”
Registering your business on the platform is easy with one-to-one support available if you need it.
No sales commission is taken by ShopAppy.com but a transaction charge of 2% is taken by their banking partner Visa.
DCC is particularly keen to get businesses registered before the public launch campaign in two or three weeks. To find out more, contact info@shopappy.com.
