Buxton Town Team has launched a draft of their sustainable travel plan for Buxton – ‘Buxton on the Move’ – and is now seeking feedback.
The plan arose from the ‘Buxton on the Move’ conference in 2016 after which their Access, Parking, Traffic and Transport Group was set up. The group was tasked with developing an holistic plan for the town that meets the needs of all users, and with developing and promoting specific projects that will contribute towards achieving it. They have worked in partnership with local authorities and organisations to develop a sustainable travel plan which has involved counting vehicles, travel surveys and meeting with local employers. To find out more about the project click here.
The group is also currently working on the Safer Walk & Ride Network, which is also out for consultation – click here to find out more.
The Consultation Document
The ‘Buxton on the Move’ consultation document addresses accessibility, signage, walking, cycling, school travel, cars, parking, public transport, goods deliveries and electric vehicles.
