Nestlé Waters is supporting Buxton Football Club with the running of their hotly anticipated youth academy, which is due to open its doors in September this year, marking the company’s ongoing commitment to strengthening relationships within the local Buxton community.
Buxton Football Club, a member of the Northern Premier League, is home to a brand new state of the art facility, following the installation of a 4G pitch in August last year which has enabled the opening of the youth academy for young aspiring footballers later this year. Boasting one of the highest spec floodlit pitches in the country, the complex is already home to many sporting and social clubs from in and around the local area and has quickly developed into a major community hub for the residents of Buxton. The youth academy which launches in the autumn is expected to provide a further benefit to the local area, as it continues to attract and nurture top talent within Buxton and the surrounding area. The facility will offer a range of educational programmes, delivered by teachers in a classroom environment, rather than via e-learning.
Nestlé Waters’ support has helped to enable the facility to be kitted out with state of the art classrooms featuring interactive whiteboards and a host of educational materials throughout the site. As well as an academy facility, the premises will also host after school clubs and provide real value and benefit to local children in the area right the way through from 9am in the morning, to 9pm at night.
Scott Reid Environment and Sustainability Officer at Nestlé Waters Buxton comments: “We are absolutely delighted to be supporting Buxton Football Club with this partnership and hope that our efforts will further strengthen links within the local community. We are immensely proud to be involved in an initiative which provides such a rich opportunity for the children and young adults living within Buxton, which will help them develop skills, that amongst others, are highly transferrable in the workplace. We hope the academy inspires the next generation of Buxton and we look forward to watching this fresh talent develop and grow.”
David Hopkins, Chairman of Buxton Football Club comments: “We are delighted with the support given by Nestlé Waters, such a high-profile company with strong links to the town and we hope that this is the beginning of a strong and long-lasting partnership. The developments we have overseen at the Club over the last 12 months have been truly transformational in terms of engagement with the local community, which would not have been possible without the support of companies like Nestlé Waters.”
