The Thomas Theyer Foundation is a local charity set up in memory of Thomas Samuel Theyer who died on July 19th 2013. The charity supports children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and those experiencing Difficult Life Circumstances (DLC), their parents/carers.
The focus of the charity is to provide its beneficiaries with access to outdoor activities, recognising the physical and mental health benefits this brings. Additionally, it provides other support including counselling services.
In 2017, the charity opened it's first Sports and Outdoor Charity shop at 1 London Road, Buxton. The shop has fast become known as an excellent place for a variety of sports and outdoor clothing and equipment.
In 2020, the charity began to offer counselling services, based at 11 Concert Place, Buxton.
